Job description |
The Philosophy department at Gonzaga University invites applications for one full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning fall semester 2019. AOS: open. AOC: One or more of the following: Feminist Philosophy, Philosophy of Law, Philosophy of Race and Ethnicity, Philosophy of Science. Teaching load: 18 credits per year. Successful applicant will assume ongoing responsibility for teaching Reasoning (PHIL101), a University core curriculum course. Applicants should include a description of their interest in and approaches to this course in their Teaching Statement. Applicants should also be prepared to teach Philosophy of Human Nature (PHIL 201) and a Core Integration Seminar (CIS) in one of the desired AOCs. The CIS is an interdisciplinary capstone course for the core curriculum, which encourages students to envision their role in the world, while integrating the principles of Jesuit education, prior components of the core, and their disciplinary expertise. Required Qualifications: • A Ph.D. in Philosophy.
