Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Tenure Track

AOS: Ancient Philosophy/History of Philosophy
AOC: Ethics

The Philosophy Department of Nazareth College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August, 2019. The teaching load is 3-4 courses per semester. The department is committed to playing a critical role in the college’s core curriculum and to teaching students the history of philosophy as part of the major. We are looking for candidates with similar commitments whose background in Ancient Philosophy has prepared them to teach not only our introductory course in the core curriculum but also a department seminar for majors and minors and other offerings. Some preference will be given to candidates who are also interested in teaching ethical theory and applied ethics. Applicants who are committed to building a diverse and inclusive academic environment are encouraged to apply.
