The teaching duties of the position will be split evenly between the Department of Philosophy and Religion, and the Department of Cultural, Gender and Global Studies (CGG) with a 4/4 course load. In addition to teaching in the area of the AOS and other philosophy courses as needed, the successful applicant will be required to teach courses in Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies, and to develop and teach a course in Internet Studies. Preference will be given to those who have a demonstrated competence in teaching these courses. The successful candidate will also have advising duties in the Department of Cultural, Gender and Global Studies.

The Department of Philosophy and Religion and the Department of Cultural, Gender and Global Studies are committed to building a diverse educational environment, and applicants with a demonstrated ability to develop initiatives designed to foster greater understanding of diversity are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must send a complete application consisting of:

  • a current CV,
  • a letter of application discussing applicant’s teaching and research experience in the AOS and the AOC, and if applicable, in Internet Studies, and efforts to enhance inclusiveness in teaching, service, and scholarship (2 pages max),
  • a teaching dossier containing sample syllabi for the above mentioned courses
  • unofficial graduate transcripts indicating at least 18 credit hours work in philosophy
  • and three current letters of recommendation.
