SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY, Huntsville, TX. Announcing an Assistant Professor position in the Philosophy Program of the Department of Psychology and Philosophy starting in Fall 2019. A Ph.D. in philosophy is required. The AOSs are Aesthetics and Continental Philosophy. The AOC is Philosophy of Film, with required teaching competence in Critical Thinking. The regular teaching load will be three undergraduate courses per semester. It will include, among other things, some combination of Critical Thinking, Introduction to Philosophy, Contemporary Moral Issues, Aesthetics, Existentialism and Self-Awareness, Philosophy in Film & Literature. On-line teaching experience is a plus. Summer teaching may be possible depending on demand.
