Assistant Professor of Philosophy The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy (AOS: Early Modern Philosophy). Teaching competence and further research interest in critical thinking and applied ethics are also desirable (the department has needs in biomedical ethics, business ethics, and engineering ethics). The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in student-centered, self-reflective teaching, with courses to be taught including introductory courses in philosophy, critical thinking, and/or logic, the philosophy major’s required upper-level course in early modern philosophy, and other courses in the candidate’s areas of scholarly expertise as needed. The position has a 4/3 teaching load with an opportunity for a reduced load of 3/3. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in philosophy with degree in hand by August 2019.
