Future Research Fellow & permanent faculty member (EXPIRED)

The Philosophy Department at the University of Edinburgh (www.ed.ac.uk/ppls/philosophy)  is seeking expressions of interest in the Future Leaders Fellowship from UK Research and Innovation (www.ukri.org/funding/funding-opportunities/future-leaders-fellowships/) . This scheme offers the opportunity for a research-focused post for 4 to 7 years, followed by an ongoing teaching+research+admin post within our department (on a typical 40/40/20 split).

Please note: This is effectively a permanent faculty position that begins with 4 to 7 years of research, along with generous supporting research funds for this period. The position is contingent on a UKRI application being successful. There is opportunity for appointment at both Grade 8 and Grade 9 (roughly corresponding to Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the UK system or tenured assistant/associate prof in the North American system).

We anticipate the scheme will be highly competitive and only candidates who are early-career researchers (within ~6-7 years post-PhD) with very strong publication records relative to career stage will be considered for support.   If you are interested, please email  [email protected] including ‘Interest in UKRI Fellowship’ in the subject of your email and attaching a current CV in pdf format and a 2 page research statement by Dec 1st at the latest.
