Job description

SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY, Huntsville, TX. Announcing a Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Philosophy Program of the Department of Psychology and Philosophy starting in Fall 2019. A Ph.D. in philosophy is preferred.  The AOS is Non-Western Philosophy broadly understood (e.g. Islamic Philosophy, Asian Philosophy, African/a Philosophy, Latin American Philosophy and/or Indigenous Philosophy of the Americas) AOC: Ethics. The successful candidate will be expected to have the ability to teach Critical Thinking courses.  

The regular teaching load will be four undergraduate courses per semester and may include a combination of face-to-face and online courses. These courses will include, among other things, some combination of Critical Thinking, Introduction to Philosophy and Contemporary Moral Issues. Summer teaching may be possible depending on demand.
