Job Description: The Department of Philosophy at Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning August 2019. The department is developing an interdisciplinary Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) program, which includes courses in Ethical Theory, Political Philosophy, and Philosophy of Law. The department has additional teaching needs in Biomedical Ethics and Environmental Ethics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach writing-intensive courses at Robert E. Cook Honors College. The department is interested in candidates who have developed effective teaching strategies for the educational advancement of students from groups underrepresented in higher education or in philosophy. The successful candidate must be willing to teach an introductory-level course at the university’s branch campuses and to conduct distance education courses. Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during the interview(s), which may include a teaching demonstration. All offers of employment are subject to and contingent upon confirmation of work eligibility and satisfactory completion of all pre-employment background checks. |
