Research Assistant Professor in Applied Ethics (PR0254/18-19)
The appointee is expected to conduct independent research in the field of Cross-Cultural Health Humanities that includes but is not limited to bioethics, spirituality and religion in healthcare, as well as to assist senior academic staff to supervise postgraduate students and research assistants. He/She will have a significant role to play in the development of the new niche research area (Well-being, Value, and Public Good) in the Department and the Faculty of Arts. There is an expectation that the appointee will apply for a General Research Fund (GRF) of the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong. He/She is also expected to teach General Education courses for the Department not more than one course per semester in total.
Applicants should possess a relevant PhD degree with an excellent track record of relevant postdoctoral research experience. Priority will be given to applicants with successful experience in research project application and competence in interdisciplinary approaches in teaching.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two to three years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Remuneration package includes retirement/gratuity benefits, annual leave, medical and dental scheme.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
