Assistant Professor / Associate Professor (Philosophy) (PR0367/18-19)
The appointee is expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and possibly at postgraduate degree levels related to Philosophy. The teaching is for both undergraduate General Education and B.A. in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics. He/She is also expected to conduct independent research in the field of Philosophy and Ethics or Applied Ethics as well as assist senior academic staff to supervise postgraduate students and research assistants. Administrative duties will be required as assigned by the Department/Faculty.
Applicants should possess a relevant PhD degree with strong publication record and teaching experience at the tertiary level. Those with background in Chinese Philosophy will also be considered.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years commencing September 2019. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Outstanding candidates for the rank of Associate Professor or above may be considered for appointment with tenure.
Remuneration package includes retirement/gratuity benefits, annual leave, medical and dental scheme, housing assistance and relocation allowance wherever appropriate.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
