Trent University invites applications for a twelve-month limited-term appointment (LTA) in the Department of Philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing August 15, 2019. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval.
Candidates are expected to have a completed Ph.D., demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and an active research program. The successful candidate will teach seven half-credit courses—three in the fall semester, three in the winter semester, and one six-week course in the summer of 2020. We are seeking candidates to teach the following combination of courses in the fall and winter semesters with assignments for summer 2020 to be determined.

FALL: GREK 1000H: Elementary Greek I; PHIL 2030H: Death; PHIL 2420H: Ancient Philosophy I—Presocratics and Plato (Cross-listed with Ancient Greek and Roman Studies)
WINTER: GREK 1001H: Elementary Greek II; PHIL 2430H: Ancient Philosophy II—Aristotle and the Hellenists; PHIL 4430H: Advanced Topics in Ancient Philosophy (Cross-listed with Ancient Greek and Roman Studies) + One 0.5 credit course in the summer of 2020
