Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at the University of Memphis invites applications for an Instructor position to begin Fall 2019, pending availability of funds. This is a non-tenure track, full-time position for the 2019-2020 academic year only. Two semester calendar. No summer teaching. Area of specialization (AOS): Applied Ethics. Area of competence (AOC): Open. Demonstrated ability to teach biomedical ethics at the undergraduate level required. Duties include a 4/4 teaching load and additional service as needed. PhD or ABD in Philosophy required. Candidates who will contribute to the department’s longstanding strengths in philosophy of race, African American philosophy, philosophy of gender, and feminist philosophy are especially encourage to apply. Interviews will be conducted by teleconference. Position effective begin date: August 19, 2019.
