Job description

The Department of Philosophy at San Diego State University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Philosophy, tenure-track position, to begin August 2020. AOS: Philosophy of Science; AOC: Open.

The Department has strengths in ancient Greek philosophy, Asian philosophies, Continental philosophy, epistemology, ethics, modern philosophy, philosophy of law, philosophy of mind, and social and political philosophy. Normal teaching load: 3-3. Due date for applications to receive full and due consideration: 1 November 2019. Position open until filled.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have earned their PhD in philosophy by the time of appointment and demonstrated potential for excellence in scholarship and teaching. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Philosophy of Science. The department encourages interdisciplinary research and teaching. Salary and benefits are competitive and are commensurate with experience and academic preparation.
