Job Summary The Brian Lamb School of Communication in the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University invites applications for a full-time, Academic Year (9 month) Lecturer position beginning in either January or August 2020. This position is for a Debate Coach/Instructor and Program Administrator who will lead and manage the Richard C. Petticrew Debate Forum, including the Purdue Policy Debate Team. Qualifications MA in Communication and/or Philosophy or a related discipline. Strong debate experience as competitor and coach. Teaching experience including evidence of teaching effectiveness. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact in a professional capacity with diverse faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members. Evidence of an excellent record in higher education instruction. Excellent communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills including relationship building with internal and external constituents is essential. Ability to manage competing demands; prioritize and organize work assignments; supervise staff effectively and work independently to meet deadlines. Ability to manage, analyze, and interpret data. Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn new skills, embrace changing technology, interpret, and communicate policies, and procedures. Ability to exercise professional judgment and solve problems independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality. |
