Job description

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy, anticipated start date August 2020. Areas of Specialization (AOS): Open. Areas of Competence (AOC): Open. Research interests should complement those of current faculty. The Department of Philosophy has teaching needs in metaphysics, philosophy of mind, history of philosophy, and symbolic logic. Completion of a Ph.D. in philosophy is required prior to start of appointment.

The Department of Philosophy at UAB supports an undergraduate major and also serves the core curriculum. Current faculty research is in areas of analytic philosophy with traditional strengths in ethics, epistemology, and philosophy of science.
