Job description

The University of Evansville’s Department of Philosophy and Religion invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Philosophy beginning August 2013.


This position will have a teaching load of 6 – 7 courses per year.  AOS: Ethics (including bioethics and environmental ethics); AOC: Legal, Social and Political Philosophy.  Candidate must be willing to teach courses in the philosophy core and in the university's First Year Seminar program. This appointment is to the Department of Philosophy and Religion, which supports majors in Philosophy, Cognitive Science, and Religion, along with a growing minor in Ethics.  Ph.D. in hand by August 2013 preferred.   Candidates should have an active scholarly agenda and strong interests in teaching at a four-year, private undergraduate university. Salary competitive.
