Job description |
The Department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory of Science (FLoV) at the University of Gothenburg is looking to hire a two-year postdoc attached to the Lund Gothenburg Responsibility Project (LGRP). LGRP focuses on moral responsibility and free will within action theory, normative ethics, metaethics, and legal philosophy. Located both at FLoV and the Department of Philosophy at Lund University (a 2-hour train ride from Gothenburg), LGRP is directed by Prof. Paul Russell, a leading figure in the field of free will and moral responsibility. In addition to faculty, postdocs and PhD students associated with the project in Gothenburg and Lund, the project regularly hosts visiting researchers and speakers. Please see https://www.lgrp.lu.se/ for further information. Job assignments The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the research environment, especially with respect to foundational and analytic issues concerning moral responsibility and free will (broadly conceived). The postdoctoral researcher is expected to spend most of his or her employment on research. Additional duties may include teaching, supervising graduate students, course design, and other teaching-related activities, but will not exceed 20% of the overall workload. The postdoctoral researcher is also expected to provide support for the supervision of the LGRP-funded PhD student who is based in Gothenburg (see below for details). The postdoctoral researcher is expected to actively participate in LGRP’s activities in both Gothenburg and Lund, during the entire duration of the employment as well as other relevant academic events at the department such as workshops and seminars. Since LGRP is an international research environment, the working language is English. Read more and apply here: |
