4-year PhD position (EXPIRED)

The Institute of Philosophy and Scientific Method (ISPM) at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz is seeking an enthusiastic philosophy graduate to join our team and complete a PhD in philosophy of science under Prof. Julian Reiss' supervision. An interest in the role of science in society is a must, some knowledge of economics, political economy, a social science or medicine desirable. The position is full-time, fixed-term for four years ('Graduate Teaching Assistant with Diploma/Masters Degree' is the official title). The holder of this position is expected to teach 2 hours per teaching week from the second year onwards.

The ISPM, currently headed by Prof. Reiss, was founded in 1971 and has been one of the leading centres for excellent research and teaching in the philosophy of science in Austria since its inception. With over 21,000 students JKU is the largest institution for education and research in upper Austria.
