Instructor or Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

Responsibilities:

• Teach courses fall semester 2013:  Intro to Philosophy, Ethics, Aesthetics, and Ancient and Medieval Philosophy.
• Design and deliver on line courses with Desire To Learn (D2L) software or willingness to obtain necessary skills for on line course design and delivery.
• Contribute to a program of scholarship within the discipline, student advising, service to the University and community, program assessment, and other associated faculty duties.
• Participate in activities that support Bemidji State University’s signature themes: environmental stewardship, civic engagement, global/multicultural understanding.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in Philosophy or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution at the time of appointment required.
• Areas of competence: History of Philosophy (broadly construed), Ethics, Logic.
• Ability and willingness to teach a wide range of lower and upper division Philosophy courses as well as interdisciplinary courses.
• Terminal degree required for tenure consideration and promotion.
