Job description

Primary responsibility is to teach all levels of Philosophy to undergraduate students, including undergraduate students in the Philosophy minor and General Education students. The successful applicant should have a strong competency in applied ethics, especially biomedical ethics, business ethics, and environmental ethics, and the ability to teach introduction to philosophy and critical thinking. Applicants with the ability to teach courses in feminist philosophy are strongly encouraged to apply. Active scholarship and participation in departmental and university efforts including committee work is also expected. Typical course load is four classes per semester. Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Philosophy. ABD will be considered provided that degree will be completed by August 19, 2013. 
  • Competence in teaching applied ethics, including business ethics, biomedical ethics, and environmental ethics, and introductory philosophy and critical thinking. 
  • College level teaching experience.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarship. 
  • Ability to teach feminist philosophy courses.
