Philosophy Temporary Pool Advertisement

Department of Philosophy

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Philosophy Department seeks applicants for its Temporary Pool. Applicants are invited to visit the department’s webpage at https://www.bloomu.edu/philosophy . Bloomsburg offers both the BA and the minor in philosophy. We are a collegial, research-active department located 2.5 hours west of NYC in the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside. Qualifying Education/Experience

The department is currently seeking applications for its Temporary Pool. Applicants from this pool will be eligible for temporary faculty positions: part-time one semester, full-time one semester, and part-time academic year.

  • Education Requirement: The PhD in Philosophy is preferred, though the department will consider strong applicants who are ABD.
  • AOS: currently, the department needs someone who can teach upper-division courses in Political Philosophy and Philosophy of Law. AOS in either is required.

Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time department faculty.

Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, and a Criminal background check.
