Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy at W&L University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position to begin July 1, 2022. AOS: Ethical Theory. AOC: open but with special consideration given to candidates who can teach Africana Philosophy, Latinx Philosophy, Native American Philosophy, or Philosophy of Race (separately or as part of other courses).

This position will include teaching five undergraduate courses over two, 12-week semesters, plus one 4-week intensive May term course every other year. There will be thesis and independent study supervision, and normal departmental service. There is no summer teaching. Generous research and teaching grants are available. There will be opportunities to work closely with the Roger Mudd Center for Ethics, the Shepherd Program for the Interdisciplinary Study of Poverty and Human Capability, and other programs.

Qualifications
