Tufts University, School of Arts and Sciences Department of Philosophy Assistant Professor (tenure track) –Feminist Philosophy The Philosophy Department seeks a promising junior professor to enhance its undergraduate and MA programs, complement its existing teaching and research strengths, and contribute to the active philosophical life of the department as well as to curricular and research innovations in the broad area of Women’s Studies. This position is made possible through the Kathryn A. McCarthy, J45, AG46, Junior Professorship in Women’s Studies. The individual hired for this position will be affiliated with Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and would be expected to cross-list one or two courses per year in that program as well as to support capstone experiences for students. This is a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning in the Fall of 2017. A PhD in Philosophy is required, with an area of specialization or area of competence in Feminist Philosophy. The position requires teaching four courses a year, some of which will be cross-listed with the interdisciplinary program of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; and also includes usual non-teaching duties.
