The Philosophy Department seeks a promising junior professor to enhance its undergraduate and MA programs, complement its existing teaching and research strengths, and contribute to the active philosophical life of the department as well as to curricular and research innovations in the broad area of Women’s Studies. This is a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning in the Fall of 2017. A PhD in Philosophy is required, with an area of specialization or area of competence in Feminist Philosophy. The position requires teaching four courses a year, some of which will be cross-listed with the interdisciplinary program of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; and also includes usual non-teaching duties.

Applications must include a cover letter, CV, writing sample, three letters of recommendation, and an e-mail address and phone number at which the candidate may be reached. Evidence of teaching experience and expertise welcome. Applications should be submitted to https://apply.interfolio.com/38440. Questions about the position should be addressed to Stephen Martin, Department of Philosophy Program Manager, at [email protected]. Review of applications will begin on November 4, 2016, and continue until the position is filled. Preliminary interviews will be scheduled. To be assured of full consideration, applications must be complete by November 4, 2016.

Tufts is an EO/AAE employer and committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty; candidates from under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
