The Department of Philosophy and Religion in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University invites applications for an appointment as Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, tenure/tenure-track, in the area of Social and Political Philosophy, to begin in September 2017. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Philosophy at the time of appointment, be active scholars with a strong record of scholarly achievement, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to and experience with undergraduate education. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to working with a globally diverse faculty and student body in a multidisciplinary, experiential environment. The successful candidate will teach core courses, including Social and Political Philosophy and Economic Justice, in a rapidly growing interdisciplinary undergraduate degree program in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE). The successful candidate will also help develop experiential education opportunities for students in the PPE program. We are particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in the areas of the philosophy of economics. The College of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leader in the Experiential Liberal Arts (www.northeastern.edu/cssh/about/deans-welcome).
