Department Chair (EXPIRED)

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, seeks applicants for the Chair of the Department of Philosophy at the level of full or associate professor.

The department offers a bachelor’s degree, as well as a master’s and doctoral program; it also has significant teaching obligations in the Core Curriculum of the College of Arts and Sciences, the largest academic unit of the University. There are 18 tenure-line faculty, including three endowed chairs, and 45 graduate students. The position begins Fall 2017. Ph.D. required; administrative experience preferred, but not required. Course load negotiable. Record of research and publication required. AOS: open. Qualified candidates must have knowledge of and commitment to Catholic, Jesuit ideals and educational goals. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
