Job description |
Saint Joseph Seminary College in Saint Benedict, Louisiana is seeking a full time philosophy professor to teach at the undergraduate level to begin in the 2017-2018 school year. The qualified candidate will have command of the history of Western philosophy, and a knowledge and appreciation of the Catholic intellectual tradition. The qualified candidate will have a Ph.D. in philosophy or ABD with no more than one year left in the dissertation process. The candidate will be expected to teach at least three courses per semester (Fall and Spring), and will be expected to fulfill committee and assessment duties as assigned by the division chair and/or the Academic Dean. This will be a continuing position, though all faculty contracts are reevaluated on a yearly basis. Though research is appreciated and expected, Saint Joseph Seminary College places a premium on the professor’s ability to teach. As a result, evidence of excellent pedagogical skills will be required from all applicants. Competitive salary and full benefits package are available.
