Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Department of Religion and Philosophy of High Point University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Philosophy, AOS Applied Ethics, AOC Business Ethics. Appointment to begin fall, 2017, pending final budgetary approval.  Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or other earned doctorate and possess a broad knowledge of contemporary issues in applied ethics.  Applicants should demonstrate a dedication to teaching and be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in the context of a liberal arts institution related to the United Methodist Church. Candidates who are committed to interdisciplinary teaching and research, have relevant teaching experience working with high achieving students or First Year Seminar programs, or collaborative or project-based teaching experiences are encouraged to apply. Teaching expectations include general education courses in ethics, First Year Seminar courses, Honors courses and upper level undergraduate courses in the university’s philosophy curriculum. Position will remain open until filled, but full consideration will be given to applications received before January 15th, 2017.
