Philosophy job opening: two-year postdoctoral fellowship

The Department of Philosophy at UBC-Vancouver invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship to commence July 1st, 2017. The appointment will be for 2 years, subject to positive appraisal of performance and research progress in the first year. The postdoctoral research stipend will be $40,000 per year plus benefits, with additional compensation for teaching.

Area of Specialization: Philosophy of Art

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. (or expect to have successfully defended prior to July 1st, 2017) and have research expertise in Philosophy of Art, demonstrated accomplishments in scholarship (evidenced by high-quality publications and/or significant conference participation), and some teaching experience at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a program of research in the philosophy of art and to teach two 3-credit courses per year (one course per term).

The successful candidate is expected to begin the position within five years of being awarded the Ph.D. and must provide evidence of completion of the Ph.D. prior to taking up the position.
