Job description

The Centre for Ethics as Study in Human Value, University of Pardubice, is seeking to appoint:

 

  • 2 researchers specialising in ethics

Intended start date: September 1st, 2017 (negotiable); contract for two years with the possibility of an extension; internationally competitive salary; suitable for early career researchers.

Qualifications required:

Must have an advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent). Successful applicants will not be employed at any other university or research institution at the time of the agreed start date of the job. Applications for temporary exceptions must be made in advance to the Dean of the Faculty.

Documents and information (in English) to be submitted with the application form:

- Professional CV.

- Copy of research degree documentation. (Documents which are not originally in Czech or English must be translated into English.)

- A list of research, publication and teaching activities.

- Letter of motivation.

- Names and contact details of two academic referees.

- Sample of academic writing (e.g. a paper) relevant to the research area of the Centre for Ethics. For details about the Centre see http://filosofie.upce.cz/en/224-centre-for-ethics/.

The application together with all the attachments should be sent by April 25th, 2017 by e-mail to Tereza Mlejnková ([email protected]). Please state the name of the position in the e-mail subject.

The job committee will invite selected applicants for an interview (conducted in English) that will take place on May 17th –18th, 2017. Notifications will be sent to all the applicants by May, 7th. It is preferable that applicants attend the job interview in person but, in exceptional cases and for candidates from outside of Europe, interviews can be conducted by video conference. Shortlisted candidates from Europe who wish to be considered for an exception should make this known at the earliest possible date in order to allow for appropriate arrangements to be made.
