Job description

The University of South Dakota invites applications for a one-year Lecturer position in philosophy. The successful candidate will be able to teach a variety of ethics classes such as Intro to Ethics, Environmental Ethics, and Ethics and Value Theory (an advanced course in ethics) in either face-to-face or online delivery . The application should accordingly include strong evidence of demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

A complete application consists of (1) a cover letter including the applicant's teaching statement, (2) a CV, (3) a syllabus for "Intro to Ethics" and a syllabus for either "Ethics and Value Theory," "Biomedical Ethics," or "Environmental Ethics," and (4) name and contact information for three references. Review of applications will begin May 24, 2017 and continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is August 22, 2017.
