Job description

The Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor of leadership studies with a specialization in ethics or applied ethics. Candidates must have earned, or be on course to complete, a Ph.D. in Philosophy or related discipline on or before August 23, 2018. AOS: Ethics or Applied Ethics. AOC: Meta-Ethics, Value Theory, Political Philosophy, Business Ethics, Philosophy of Psychology, or Environmental Philosophy. To complement current strengths, we are especially interested in candidates whose research addresses consequentialism or virtue ethics. Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses such as Leadership Ethics, Critical Thinking, Leadership and the Humanities, First-Year Seminars, and elective courses in their area of interest and expertise. 

We seek applicants with the potential and desire to develop, from disciplinary training, an active scholarly agenda on questions of leadership; and the ability to conduct interdisciplinary research and teach in an interdisciplinary liberal arts environment. In their cover letters, candidates should demonstrate how their scholarly and teaching interests connect to the study of leadership.
