Department of History and Philosophy

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Philosophy faculty position in the Department of History and Philosophy, College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Position Responsibilities:

Successful candidate will be expected to teach general education courses, lower division undergraduate courses  required by the major including a course introducing students to methods and themes in comparative philosophy, and  some upper division courses as needed by the program. Area of expertise within the history of philosophy broadly construed complementing existing faculty. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to teach non-western. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track position. The position has a 5/4 teaching load. In addition to teaching duties, lecturers are expected to perform some professional service for the department, college and university. Faculty teach courses in a variety of modalities including face-to-face, hybrid and online.

Required Education, qualifications, and experience:

Ph.D., or its foreign equivalent. University teaching experience required. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest college at KSU, enrolling more that 7000 students in 30 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
