Job description

Position No. 00050112.  The Department of Philosophy at Southern Methodist University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor appointment beginning Fall/August 2018. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related discipline at the time of the appointment. AOS or AOC: Ethics, broadly construed to include theoretical and applied ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of law, along with related subfields.  The successful candidate must show potential to publish at a high level as well as promise in teaching at the undergraduate level. Teaching load is 2-2 with class sizes from 10-35 students.  Salary, benefits and research support will be competitive.
