Faculty position in Philosophy – Open-rank (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy at the American University of Beirut invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor of Philosophy (though appointment at the rank of associate will be considered for suitably qualified applicants).  AOS: Ethics or Political Philosophy. AOC: Applied Ethics (e.g., Environmental, Bio-Medical, Business, and Engineering).  PhD at time of appointment required. The successful candidate will be expected to take up the position on August 15, 2018. Appointments at the assistant professor rank are for an initial period of four years.

 The language of instruction is English.  The post will incorporate undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, some M.A. thesis supervision, and some non-teaching administrative duties.  The normal teaching load is 2/3.  The successful candidate will have the ability to make a significant contribution to the research life of the department. For more information about the department, please visit https://www.aub.edu.lb/fas/philosophy/Pages/index.aspx.
