Assistant Professor (EXPIRED)

Florida International University, Miami, FL. The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure track, Assistant Professor, beginning August, 2018. Ph.D. required prior to appointment. Salary competitive.

Area of Specialization: Philosophy of Science, Epistemology or Biomedical ethics. Area of Competence: Open. Teaching load: two introductory, lower-division, writing-intensive courses (e.g. Introduction to Philosophy or Introduction to Ethics) and three upper-division courses (in the candidate's areas of specialization or competency) distributed over a two-semester academic year. The Department of Philosophy is committed to excellence in both scholarship and teaching. We are looking for a promising scholar with an active research agenda and who will be committed to teaching excellence. Performance of usual service duties also expected.
