Faculty of Philosophy, University of Cambridge University Lectureship Position 1 Vacancy Reference No. GV13700 Salary: £39,992 - £50,618 pa The Faculty of Philosophy wishes to appoint a University Lecturer in Philosophy with effect from 1st September 2018. The position is permanent, subject to probation. We expect to appoint in the following area of specialization: Philosophy of Mind Appointees will be expected to be engaged in high-level research, to publish in their specialist field, to seek opportunities to win external funding for their research, to teach and examine undergraduates, and to supervise and examine MPhil and PhD postgraduate work. Candidates must either have or be willing to acquire the ability to teach in other areas outside their specialization. Applicants must already have a PhD in Philosophy by the time of the application deadline. They must have an outstanding record of excellence in research, publication and teaching in Philosophy, bearing in mind their stage of career. Appointees will also have the opportunity to participate in College teaching for additional remuneration. The Lectureship is based in the Faculty of Philosophy, in central Cambridge. The position is permanent, subject to the satisfactory completion of a review of the initial probationary period of office. This review is intended to be a constructive one, is non-competitive, and most post-holders at Cambridge complete it satisfactorily.
