Job Description Program Manager - 77496 Description The McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society seeks a full time Program Manager (Job Classification: Academic Program Professional I) to develop and direct innovative, dynamic, and diverse opportunities for undergraduates to engage in rigorous ethical reflection outside of the traditional classroom experience. We are interested in reaching students from across the university, especially undergraduates in STEM fields. The Program Manager will also support research initiatives, such as the Basic Income Lab, led by faculty associated with the Center. The ideal candidate will be an outspoken advocate for the McCoy Center, and will initiate and lead creative programming to engage undergraduates across disciplines. Working closely with the Faculty Director for the Undergraduate Program, the person will identify appropriate campus partners and student groups to expand the reach of the Center’s initiatives, promote our Undergraduate Honors Program and its Minor, and develop new undergraduate opportunities for incorporating ethical reflection into their studies and extracurricular activities. In addition to being an innovative program strategist, we seek someone with strong administrative skills who can work both independently and with a small team to oversee the details of the existing Undergraduate Honors Program (e.g., meeting with students to discuss their research, enforcing deadlines, and scheduling classes). S/he will be able to continually evaluate all of our undergraduate programming and enact changes to meet student needs and create meaningful opportunities for the entire undergraduate community. This position will also support research initiatives at the Center, such as our new Basic Income Lab (BIL). BIL engages undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows across the University through classes, public events, and research opportunities. The Program Manager will work closely with the Lab’s Faculty Director to support the full range of BIL activities, including communications, grant writing, event planning, and other tasks as needed. This is a 2-year fixed term position (with possibility of renewal). Note: This position is not intended to be a stepping stone to a tenure-track position, here or elsewhere. CORE DUTIES*: • Participate in assigned research activities and/or programs by participating in the development of programs within assigned area or entity; implementing, administering, and evaluating programs; and/or analyzing data, creating reports, reviewing trends, and making program improvement recommendations. • May teach and/or assist in the teaching and administration of courses, as needed.
