Job description

Job Summary:  Visiting Assistant Professor, one year, beginning August 12, 2018. AOS: Open. AOC: Open. PhD or Advanced ABD.  Must be able to teach sections of introductory philosophy, intro to ethics, and/or Medical Ethics.  Three introductory undergraduate courses for each of two semesters (Fall 2018 and Spring 2019); minimal departmental service. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to and appreciation for teaching students from diverse, multi-cultural backgrounds.  Salary $45,000, with benefits. Responsibilities:

1. Teach 3 sections of philosophy in each of the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters.

2.  Light departmental service duties.

Qualifications:
1.  PhD or ABD in Philosophy, or PhD or ABD in a closely related area, with a substantive training in philosophy and an active research program in philosophy

2. Ability to teach introductory courses in normative philosophy and/or Medical Ethics

3.  Commitment to teaching, multi-cultural backgrounds.
