Assistant Professor (Contractually Limited Appointment)
Department of Philosophy, McMaster University

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a one-year, contractually limited, position to begin July 1, 2018, at the rank of Assistant Professor. Preference will be given to applicants qualified to teach courses in value theory, particularly the philosophy of law, the history of political philosophy, and ethics. The successful applicant will be asked to teach 24 units (8 courses) in value-theory and, perhaps, other areas as well, such as feminist philosophy. The minimum starting salary for the one-year period for an assistant professor will be $78,344.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in philosophy, in hand or near completion by the starting date, previous teaching experience and demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in philosophy. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the research and administrative activities of the department.
