Postdoc: Ethics of Non-Human Animals The opening is for a two year, full-time postdoctoral position within a larger research project funded by the ERC and devoted to Philosophy of Animals in the Islamic World. Candidates should have expertise in contemporary ethics as it bears on non-human animals, and be prepared to work collaboratively with team members who are addressing questions about animal cognition and the ethical treatment of animals in a historical context. Candidates for this position are not, however, expected to have expertise relevant to Islamic philosophy and do not need any special linguistic competence (in Arabic, Persian, etc.); only expertise in contemporary animal ethics is required. |
