Job description |
Tulane University, New Orleans, LA: Assistant Professor of Philosophy, tenure-track. 2 courses/semester, undergraduate and graduate, supervision of doctoral theses, typical committee and departmental duties. Teaching will be 2 courses per year in the Murphy Institute’s program and 2 courses per year in the philosophy department. Area of Specialization: Political Philosophy and/or Applied Ethics. Area of Competence: All candidates must have demonstrated competence in contemporary political philosophy; other areas of interest include Philosophy of Law and Philosophy of Economics. PhD required by time of appointment. This position is intended to add to our growing strength in moral and political philosophy, for which we now have a separate track in our PhD program. This is a joint position with Tulane's Murphy Institute, which, through its Center for Ethics and Public Affairs, supports many lectures, seminars, and conferences, along with three one year faculty fellowships each year. (Please note: applicants for the Murphy Institute’s one year faculty fellowships, generally intended for those already in a tenure-track or tenured position, should apply for that separately.)
