Job description

The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. College of DuPage seeks full-time, tenure track faculty member to teach Philosophy courses starting in August, 2019. Teaching assignments will include a 5-course per semester load of basic Philosophy courses, such as Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics, and Logic. Opportunities to teach more specialized Ethics courses may be available. Ability to teach courses in Religious Studies, such as Introduction to Religion and World Religions is a plus.

Faculty duties include classroom instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising students, professional inquiry, committee work and engaging with instructional technology.

Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats during days, evenings and weekends.

  • Master's degree in Philosophy area or a Master's degree in a related discipline plus 18 semester hours of graduate level credit in Philosophy is required.
  • Teaching experience required. Teaching experience in Higher Education preferred.
