The Smith Institute houses scholars from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, including philosophy, economics, and literature. Its mission is to reintegrate the study of the humanities and economics and to combine research and undergraduate education. Members of the institute are encouraged to pursue these aims by teaching innovative classes.
Research associates will be expected to teach one course per year. Candidates should have received their PhD (or equivalent) prior to beginning the position and should address in their cover letter how their research and teaching fit with the mission of the Smith Institute. We seek candidates with the ability to generate and publish research of the highest quality.
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue on a rolling basis until March 1st, 2019 or until all positions are filled. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, writing sample, and three reference letters.
