Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy, beginning Fall 2020. Responsibilities include teaching four courses per year (two per semester), both undergraduate and graduate; some thesis supervision; and the usual non-teaching duties. AOS is ethics (broadly construed). AOC is open. The department has teaching needs in applied ethics and political philosophy. Salary is competitive. Summer work may be available. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Philosophy or a closely related area by position start date and research and teaching expertise in ethics, broadly construed. Preferred qualifications include exceptionally promising and accomplished research and teaching in ethics, broadly construed; strong potential for publications, as documented in the application materials, particularly the writing sample; teaching expertise in political philosophy; and teaching expertise in applied ethics.
