| Job description |
The Philosophy Department at Marquette University invites applications for one tenure track position beginning 08/17/2020. We seek a candidate in bioethics, broadly construed, with special interest in critical philosophy of race, critical phenomenology, environmental philosophy, or philosophy of gender and sexuality. An interest in structural oppression(s) surrounding race, gender, sexuality, and ability is particularly welcome. Also desirable is community engaged research on issues of healthcare inequalities and healthcare outcomes. Initial teaching load of 2/2 for the first three years, then reviewed primarily according to research productivity. Normal annual teaching load is five courses. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in high quality undergraduate and graduate teaching; research and publication; and service to the department and the university. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and/or research in Marquette’s Race, Ethnicity, and Indigenous Studies Program, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program, and/or the Bioethics Undergraduate Internship Program and Marquette’s growing initiatives in the Medical Humanities. Ph.D. required prior to employment. |
