The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of lower level and upper level courses that contribute to the general education curriculum and the Philosophy major.  The position carries a standard 3-3 teaching load, research, and service expectations.  The PhD in Philosophy is required before August 17, 2020.

UNO is a Doctoral/Research institution with over 15,000 students.  The Philosophy program at UNO offers three different concentrations within its Philosophy major: (i) Generalist; (ii) Ethics, Law, and Social-Political Philosophy; and (iii) Philosophy of Brain and Mind.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with relevant researchers across the University of Nebraska system including researchers associated with UNO’s new HARP (Human-Aware AI, Machine-Learning, and Robotics Pavilion) initiative.

UNO has a strong commitment to achieving diversity among faculty and staff.  We are particularly interested in receiving applications from members of under-represented groups and strongly encourage women and persons of color to apply. The University of Nebraska does not discriminate based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, and/or political affiliation in its programs, activities, or employment.
