Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at Simon Fraser University invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Philosophy, beginning July 1, 2020. Area of specialization (AOS): Non-European philosophy (including, but not limited to: African, Asian, Indian, Indigenous, Islamic, and Latin American philosophy). Area of competence (AOC): open, but ability to teach a range of courses in our curriculum is desirable. Duties include research, both undergraduate and graduate teaching, supervision of MA students, and administrative service. The teaching load is 4 courses per year on a trimester system (two courses per semester for two semesters and one research semester). Candidates must have completed their PhD in Philosophy or equivalent by the start date of appointment or shortly thereafter. This is an entry-level position. Only those holding or those eligible to be promoted to the rank will be considered. The position is subject to availability of funding.
