Job description

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Washington invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Philosophy with AOS: Philosophy of Science with a focus on either data-intensive science or biological science, and AOC: open. This is a full-time, tenure eligible position with an anticipated start date of September 2020.  Tenure track faculty have an annual service period of nine months (Sept 16-June 15). All University of Washington faculty engage in research, teaching, and service.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a robust research program that complements existing scholarship in the department; teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels; serve on dissertation committees and mentor graduate and undergraduate students; actively participate in service to the university, profession, and broader communities; and promote a diverse and inclusive community of faculty, staff, and students.

We host the Neuroethics Thrust research team and the Center for Philosophy for Children.
