Lecturer (EXPIRED)

AUBURN UNIVERSITY, Auburn, AL. The Department of Philosophy is seeking candidates for a lecturer position in Philosophy of Religion beginning August 16, 2020. The position is a one-year, non-tenure eligible position with the possibility of renewal based upon job performance, need, and the availability of funding.

This position comes with teaching responsibilities only. A full-time, 9-month appointment runs from mid­ August to mid-May. Course load is four classes per semester with the possibility of a small teaching-related service component. Salary is $44,000.00. Final appointment is contingent upon funding.

The successful candidate will be ABD in Philosophy by August 16, 2020 with the PhD conferred by May 15, 2021. Area of Specialty: Philosophy of Religion. Areas of Competence: Comparative Religion and Professional Ethics. We highly desire candidates with an MA in Theology or Religious Studies, with significant teaching experience in each of the areas listed above, and with a record of recruiting students to the study of philosophy and religion.

The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required.
