The Opportunity

The School of Philosophical, Historical and International Studies is recruiting a Lecturer to join the Philosophy Program at Monash University.

The successful applicant will contribute to teaching, research, and graduate supervision in the Philosophy Program and will teach courses in Philosophy, the interdisciplinary major in Human Rights, as well as the newly established Bachelor in Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE). Experience in these areas will be favourably considered.

Area of Specialisation: Political Philosophy/Ethics; some capacity and track record in decision theory, rational choice theory, network theory, cognitive science, and/or philosophy of biology/economics/statistics is desirable.

The successful candidate will likely have a strong record of accomplishment or potential for high-quality research in philosophy, and will be contributing to the research activities in the department. The candidate may also contribute to administrative service, commensurate with expertise and experience, within the Department and/or School.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
